The Lighthouse The Old light House is one of the most prominent features of the Promenade Beach, dating back to the 19th century. Botanical Garden The well-loved Botanical Gardens of Pondicherry that houses a variety of exotic plants and flowers, came into existence in 1826 and were originally meant to be an elaborate French Garden. To beat the scorching heat of the town it is often tempting to relax in the cool, sleepy premises of the garden.
